owls=reclusive birds of prey
Lets see.... where do we start? Well it started when I was coming home from launching rockets. And just as we pulled up to the drive-way there perched on a branch ten feet from us was a great gray Owl I was stunned. I then started mindlessly grabbing for my camera. ( which i considered leaving home). Then pop said whoa slow down your gonna scare the owl. So I "calmly" took a picture. After that it flew away. Now I had been having lots of sightings of this owl. But to my best efforts no picture. So it felt really good to shoot that picture. (By the way I saw a bird of prey on a power line earlier). I have provided a picture of my great gray owl and a comparison picture
Yet another snake
Today I was looking at the stream to find yet another snake basking in the sun. so I photographed it. Now I do not know the type snake it is but feel free to tell me if you feel that you do know what type of snake it is. Enjoy
A huge garter snake

crayfish those little stream lobsters and my experience finding em
Well it all started when my brother found a small one inch crayfish. I ended up grabing it. it was tiny and blue-ish. the very next day i found another small crayfish it was a one clawed crayfish and i picked it up no problem. I went to get a bucket i filed it with water and in that water was a salamander larvae. I put the cray fish in and found out that cray fish eat salamander larvae (the salamander did not die it just got attacked. The very next day i found a big full sized crayfish its around three to four inches long( impressive sight yet scary). i knew that i had to grab a three inch long pinching crayfish. I knew how i wanted to do this. Grab the thorax and he cannot pinch you like that. All this went through my mind in a split second. In real time i grabed it instantly. Later i found yet another big crayfish and grabed it instantly. than i found a tiny one.( i always found them when i was not looking for them.) please ignore the the
